High Tide & more Birthdays.....

Hi All,
I'm so happy you stopped by today. I know it's been awhile since I last posted but my ASUS computer got a virus & it's pretty much dead....sigh. Because of that I had to wait until my darling husband (who is my in house IT guy) had time to move my files to my new computer, (his old one)... He is still trying to transfer data from the other computer to my google drive so I can access it on my new computer. I'm very blessed to have him around to do this for me.  Anyhoo...remember a couple of weeks ago when I last posted an update here I mentioned that February was a month filled with birthdays well I have been busy making more birthday cards. The first card I'm sharing today is the card I made for my youngest son's birthday. I used the new Stampin' Up! High Tide stamp set.  I couldn't wait to play with this awesome stamp set. The masking technique I C.A.S.E.'d (copy and share everything) from Tina a fellow demonstrator. Her card was done in  real red but my son's favorite color is blue so I used dapper denim and switched some things around to make it my own. I love how it turned out. I used gold embossing for the Happy Birthday and the dot in the center of the lighthouse window is a rhinestone so that when you move the card it sparkles and almost looks like a real light plus everything is better with a little sparkle. I also clear embossed the sand under the lighthouse to give it texture. He was very impressed with the card & still has it on display in the front room of our home. That was exactly what I was hoping for when I made the card. To finish the inside and envelope I stamped the standing birds stamp that is included in this stamp set. The sentiment came for the Stampin' Up! Guy Greetings stamp set I think it is very masculine and that is just what I was looking for on this card.

This card as it says is for a friend who likes pink. I used the Awesomely Artistic stamp set. It's an oldie but a goody Stampin' Up! stamp set. I paired it with basic gray and sweet sugarplum ink on very vanilla cardstock with a touch of playful palette designer series paper. Then for the coloring of the flowers I used so saffron, emerald envy and sweet sugarplum ink with just a tiny bit of water. I used the emerald envy and sweet sugarplum inks stamped off to stamp the dots from the stamp set. I cut one of the new double sided doilies in half. With the very vanilla side up I just tucked it under the edge of the paper to form a wrap for the flowers to be coming out of. I stamped the dragonfly in sweet sugarplum and even though you can't tell from this picture I put Wink of Stella on it's wings to add some bling.  A touch of ruched ribbon in sweet sugarplum and a sentiment popped up on a couple of dimensionals and Viola!!! you have a  sweet feminine birthday card for a friend.  I think this turned out way cute especially as the "collage" style is not usually my cup of tea.

You'll find a "Products list" below should you wish to re-create either of these birthday cards all you have to do is click on the item pictured below and it will take you right to my online Stampin' Up webstore. Birthday Month.....

Hi All
February is Birthday month at my home.  Both of my son's were born in February as well as one of my good friends and her daughter have birthdays. Plus for February classes I will be doing 2 private Birthday Card classes.  The card to the left is the card I made for my good friend. She loves all things Mickey & Minnie she is even spending time this month at Disneyland so I thought what better way to celebrate her special day than to make her a Minnie Mouse card???  For this card I used the Swirly Scribbles Thinlit dies for the head and ears of Minnie as well as the Cutie Pie Thinlit dies for the bow.  I used Pop of Pink Designer Series paper which I adhered to Thick Whisper White card base. I then stamped the sentimentment from Cool Treats stamp set in versa mark ink added white embossing powder which I then heated with the Heat Tool to basic black cardstock. Using the Triple banner punch to cut the banner tail applied the mouse head and ears with the Fine Tip glue the bow attached with Glue dots and then I popped the sentiment banner up in Dimensionals to finish the card.  I think it came out super cute and I know that my friend is going to love the card.  If you are interest in purchasing any of the products I used for this card just click on the picture below and that will take you right to my online Stampin' Up! store which is open 24/7. New Catalog Swaps....

 Hi All,
Sorry for the gap in posting but as you'll see in this post I've been busy with the new products from the Stampin' Up! 2017Occasions catalog. One of the benefits of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is I get to see the new catalog items early.  I also get to join swaps. A "Swap" is when you make one card many times  and you send them to a organizer and you get that many cards back. So I thought I'd share the card I made for this swap as well as a few of my favorite cards I received in this "Occasions Swap 2017".
For my card I chose my favorite color of Sweet Sugarplum which I combined with Soft Sky and Whisper White.  I stamped the Love heart using Sweet Sugarplum randomly around the boarder of the front of the card base then I stamped the sentiment from the Lift Me Up stamp set using Basic Grey Archival Ink. I then stamped the T-shirt & the sentiment with stamps from the Custom Tee stamp set using Sweet Sugarplum ink onto Whisper White cardstock and them I used the T-shirt Builder Framelit dies to cut out the T-shirt I used the heart shaped die from the Baker's Box thinlits.I cut out the clouds using the the Up & Away framelit dies. I used Wink of Stella on all 3 hearts to add bling because every card is better with bling. I used dimensionals to pop up the t-shirt on the Soft Sky cardstock that I attached to a piece of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock and then I attached the pieces to the front of the stamped card base.

On the card to the left the demonstrator used the Party Animal Designer Series paper and the Party Animal Embellishments and the Birthday Blast stamp set and Star Blast Edgelit Dies. She also used Pacific Point ink and cardstock as well as Whisper White cardstock and a couple of Enamel Shape stars in Pacific Point  and Enamel Shape dots in silver. I have always loved blue, yellow and white together. It looks so fresh and crisp.

For this card the demonstrator used the same Animal Party Designer Series paper and Whisper White cardstock but she choose Tempting Turquoise, Cucumber Crush and Calypso Coral inks. She used the Crazy Cake set and then fussy cut the shapes she used the coordinating Stampin' Markers to make a splatter over all of the card she removed a 1/2 strip of the Whisper White cardstock off the right side of the card front and then she added a thin strip of Tempting Turquoise to the edge of the front and attached the designer series paper to the right edge of the back section of the card. To finish the card she added 3 of our rhinestones.  I love the colors she choose and  how well all the bright primary cards work together.

For this last share the demonstrator used Island Indigo, Real Red & Whisper White cardstock. She cut the hot air balloon using the Up & Away thinlit dies. She then used versa ink & clear embossing powder to add the hot air balloons onto the Whisper White panel which she then used a Soft Sky ink wash in the middle of the Whisper White front panel to bring out the embossed balloons. She then stamped the sentiment in basic gray Archival ink onto vellum which she also embossed in clear powder. She punched out a tiny Real Red heart using the Heart Border punch. She attached s bit of silver metallic thread to the back of the large balloon before she stapled it to the front panel. She then attached the vellum and then the little heart to finish it up she used 3 rhinestones. The background embossed balloons are so pretty I can't wait to try it.

You can find all the supplies to make any of these "Swap" cards in the Occasions and Annual Stampin' Up catalogs to find those catalogs you just click on the Shop Now button on the right side of my blog.
