Blessed, Thankful & a Happy New Year...

Hi All
This update is just  a way for me to say thank you to all for you for your prayers and help.  Our home in Idaho Falls closed escrow Thursday afternoon. This is a major YEAH!!!  It means that with the exception of some very dear friends we no longer have any ties to Idaho. This is a major relief but bittersweet at the same time.  You see I'd lived in that home for 22 years. Which is probably no biggie to some of you but as a military brat & then as a corporate man's wife I've moved a lot in my life and this was the longest I'd ever lived in one place in my entire life.  Anyhow while I am over the moon that it sold and has closed without any major issues, I am sad that we are so very far away from some very dear sweet friends. Having said that I must share that while this year has been extremely stressful & sad for us with all of the changes in our lives, this year has been in God's control and plans and as usual He has blessed us all way way beyond our hopes and dreams!!!.  Thanks for all your prayers they meant a lot to me and my family.  We feel totally blessed as we are now living in a rental home in a suburb of Phoenix AZ called Buckeye and it is very nice but we hope to be buying a new home or a new to us home within the next 6 months or so. We had a wonderful Christmas with my brother, his lovely wife and their son as well as many extended family members which was great as it had been over 25 years since we last lived near any family. We have also found a lovely Calvary Chapel church in the area as well as a doctor & the all important person, at least important for me, a hair stylist.

Now as you probably stopped by to see what craftiness I've been up to lately I'm sharing my Christmas thank you cards today. I love to watercolor so this watercolor wash technique is great and super easy. I got my inspiration from a card I saw on Pintrest by Rachel Tessman. Of course I changed it so it would be my design but it nice to have an idea to help you get started.  Below you will find a  list of most of the products I used to make this card.  I did use a couple of retired items, the metal embellishment and the green stripped ribbon so those are no longer available, but there are others that you can see in the Annual and Holiday catalogs which would give you pretty much the same effect. That Holiday catalog will only be available through the 3rd of January.   Stampin' UP! year-end closeout sale continues through today so check that out there are some items available at up to 60% off. Just click the Pink Stampin' UP! button under the Shop Now title on the right for all the sale details. The current items I used on my card all came from the Annual Catalog.  You can shop for those items by clicking on the picture below.  If your order is less than $150 please use my December Host Code KJURDFK3 and please DO NOT chose no contact when you check out, as I then do not receive any information from Stampin' UP! so I won't be able to send you a thank you card, a new catalog or contact you in anyway & that would make me very sad.  I would like to earn your business so please let me know if you have any questions or need help.

Well that's it for today. Thank you for stopping by my little corner of the web.  I wish you all the Happiest of New Years. Until next time...Happy Stamping!!!!

New Start....

Hi All
Today I'm sharing a card I made for my sweet husband on his 1st day at his new job.  This is significant because he had been working for the same company for over 30 years and then retired early last May.  I have grown used to seeing him at home so it was very different day around my home today with him gone to work for the first time in 7+ months. It appears from what he told me this evening that he enjoyed his first day. Anyhoo on to the details of the card... I used to Stampin' Up! stamp sets first Country Livin' for the focal image and then Crazy about you for the sentiment. I used Very Vanilla for the base of the card, for the stitched circle background of the focal image & the sentiment banner. I used soft suede for the 1st layer of the card which I embossed with wood grain then I took the same soft suede ink on a dauber to distress the paper to better show the embossing on the paper. I tore off the upper right corner to make it look old/worn.  I also use soft suede for the scalloped circle behind the focal image. I  stamped the boots using soft suede ink and then I used the soft suede Stampin' Write marker and blender pen to color the boots & ground them on the very vanilla circle. I used a scrap of Moroccan Designer Series Paper to add a touch of color. I used the banner triple punch to make the tails of the designer series paper as well as the sentiment. I adhered the soft suede & designer series paper to the card base and the soft suede scalloped circle to the focal image with snail then a few dimensional behind the scalloped circle for extra dimension and a staple and glue dot to hold the sentiment banner in place. He loved it so that was good as making masculine cards is hard for me. I placed a list of products I used at the end of this post so all you have to do is click on the picture and it will take you right to my online Stampin' UP! website so you can purchase them.

Before I go for today I just want to remind you that Stampin' Up! is still having their Year-End Closeout Sale and there are tons awesome items to save on....Loads of stocking stuffers and great gifts for the crafters on your shopping list. Christmas Cottage Ornaments & a Year End Closeout sale.....

Hi All,
Today I have a sweet little Christmas cottage ornament to share. I've made 8 different houses for former co-workers and I have another style with several different ones I've made for family members.  These are all so cute and perfect as ornaments for your Christmas tree.  I used the Holly Berry happiness stamp set to make a tag for each of the ornaments. I used the Sweet Home stamp set for the banner over the door and the little heart on the door. I used the Home Sweet Home Thinlet dies to cut out the shape of the cottage.  The Sweet Home stamp set and dies are sold as a bundle for $53 on page 40 in the 2016 Holiday catalog. This bundle price is going away at the end of the month and there is so much you can do with this super cute set.  The stamps and thinlits are going to be carried over to the next catalog but not in a 10% off bundle, so if you like them now is the time to grab them & get the bundle sale price. Speaking of sale prices Stampin' Up has started their Year End Closeout Sale and they have some awesome items at up to 60% off. That's amazing!!!  I've made a list of the Sweet Home bundle I used for the cute little cottage and also for all the items I used to make these cute ornaments. Then I've listed the Year End closeout sale items below that list.  Some items are only available while supplies last and the Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper is already out of stock, no surprise it is very cute paper so I have not included it in the sale list below. You just have to click on the picture and it will take you right to my online Stampin' Up Store. The sale prices will show up on my online store page.
