Birth Days & Bonus Days....

Hi there!

Today I am sharing a couple of Birthday cards.  July is a busy birthday month around here with 6 Birthdays to celebrate.  In addition to all the regular summer birthday activities I will be taking a trip with my darling husband to Phoenix for 8 days, yes I said Phoenix in July and while I get that it sounds crazy there is a reason for this craziness....which I will share with you all in another update. As soon as we return from Phoenix, I'm talking the next morning, we will be picking up our darling granddaughter at the Salt Lake City airport and she will be staying with us for a month.  I am so excited to see her. The last time I got to spend time with her she was 10 and she just turned 13 last May...her dad is in the USAF and he is stationed on the east coast in Virginia and with my back issues it makes it very hard for us to travel out that way to see her, so we had to wait until she felt like she could handle an unaccompanied minor trip. We have several special activities planned for her.

Well I guess I'd best get on to the Birthday card details and the Bonus days information.

I know the card on the left looks like it would be a nice masculine card, and it would, but it was for a dear female friend who loves Steampunk. I used some of my Tim Holtz bits and embossing folders but for the envelope, sentiment, some accents, ink and the paper on this card I used Stampin' Up products. The card base is crumb cake as is the embossed clocks layer. I chose Early Espresso & Soft Suede inks to distress the edges of the card base and all over the embossed clock layer. The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and I used the new Stampin' Up Classic Label punch. The gold accents are actually Stampin' Up's White Perfect Accents that I colored with a gold sharpie marker to blend with the old gold rub-on paste I used from my stash for the aged effect on the card.  The Mermaid card on the right is for my grand niece who's 4th birthday is during our visit in Phoenix. She is having a Mermaid party so I used my Cricut Teddy Bear Parade cartridge and some patterned paper from by stash but the card base is made from Stampin' Ups whisper white cardstock, I used Peachy keen stamps for her eyes, mouth and nose which I applied glossy accents to to make them shinny. The sentiment is from the Stampin' Ups Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set while the frame around the sentiment comes from the Rose Wonder stamp set and it was die cut using the Rose Garden Thinlits and the Big Shot.  The embossing on the tail is from the retired fancy fans embossing folder & sea shell embossing came from d'vine swirls embossing folder by Provo craft. I then used some Wink of Stella that you can get at Stampin' Up on the sea shells as you can never have to much bling on a Mermaid, right??? The white glimmer edge and fin as well as the gold glimmer in the harp and the pink glimmer star on her head are all cut from Stampin' Up's glimmer paper as is the bear, which I cut from Soft Suede and very vanilla Stampin Up cardstock.. The ribbon and all the pearl accents are from Stampin' Up too. The mermaid is popped up on a action wobble so that she will move for my grand niece when she opens her card. You can find a list of all the Stampin' Up supplies I used listed below along with the July Hostess code. Welcome 2014...

Wow so sorry I haven't posted since December of 2013 and here it is almost the end of February 2014.  Holy smokes where is the time going????  I've been busy crafting and working at my "day job" so that means I needed to get organized if I was ever going to be able to find time to update my blog. While reading an email the other day I saw a video on a planner system that one of the ladies that I follow uses. That planner system looked great but it starts at $50 per year and it doesn't include a business records section. Needless to say once I found out the cost I thought I don't need a planner I have my smartphone and all my appointments are in there and they are well except for time for me to create my Skybow Creations which means that I had not scheduled time for blogging updates either. Long story short I put together a planner and business binder all in one for around $20 and now I have time 4 days a week to be creative. I even scheduled into my planner time to update my blog each month!!!  So now on with the update....
In January the gals in my Cricut Club met and they all made 8 all occasion cards, everything from Get well to Happy Birthday.  So today I will be sharing some of these with you.  In February I made a few Valentine's cards and the Cricut Club gals made canvasses with vinyl for home decor.  Next month the Cricut Club gals will be making a "Risen" banner in pastel spring colors. I bet I haven't mentioned that I am so ready for winter to be done, alas we have another month of it here in Eastern Idaho and while the weather has been mild today, well except for the wind, it snowed on Saturday and I an positive that old man winter is not done with us yet. Anyway here are the pictures of the cards and my canvas. The first three cards are from the January Cricut club meeting. The hippo is on a homemade action wobble. The cupcake card is a matchbook fold. The Get well card is a center step card. The party hat card is an interactive slider card made for a special friends son's 30th birthday. The next 3 are the cards I made for Valentines day and they are block cards. The last picture is the project that my Cricut Club gals made for the February club meeting and everyone had their own verse on their canvas.

So now you've seen all  the pictures I hope you enjoyed your time here. Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the web.  Please leave me a comment so I know you were here.

God Bless
