Cool Treats "Lego"Birthday card & some Paper Pumpkin news....

Hi All

I'm still on the birthday cards kick as there almost as  many March birthday cards to make as there were in February. Anyway on to today's card it's for my grand nephew. I got the idea from a card I saw on Pintrest by Ryemilan. Of course I changed it to Stampin' UP colors & I used the new Occasions Cool Treats stamp set also by Stampin' UP for the sentiment. The card was fairly easy to make it just takes a bit of time to put it together. So here's how to do it.... First  you'll need a 4.25 x 11 base in pacific point cardstock scored at 5.5 then run that through the Big Shot with the Chevron embossing folder (retired) but any embossing folder would do like maybe Lucky Stars or Sparkle. You'll need to round the corners with the Project life corner rounder punch. Next cut a  rectangle from daffodil delight cardstock at 5.25 x 4. Using the big shot cut out 2  squares using the smallest Layering Square die from the center of the daffodil delight large rectangle in the middle so it doesn't show once the card is assembled. Set these aside for the yellow Legos later. Next cut a rectangle from real red cardstock at 5 x 3.75. You will also need a smaller real red rectangle about 3/4 x 1.5 to form the red Lego piece. Next you'll need a small rectangle about 3/4 x1 of pacific point cardstock to form the blue Lego piece. Next you need a rectangle of whisper white cardstock at 4 x 3.25.  Stamp your birthday sentiment from the Cool Treats stamp set  on the upper end of the whisper white rectangle using Memento Tuxedo black. While that is drying you'll need to sponge the edges of all the "Lego" blocks in matching colored ink. Then with a 1/8 inch circle punch you'll need to punch four dots for the yellow blocks each from the daffodil delight large rectangle, make sure to keep away from the edge so it doesn't show once the card is assembled, You need 6 dots for the blue block and 8 dots for the red block you attach the dots with mini glue dots this takes a couple of minutes but is what makes this card so cute. Once you have all the blocks assembled you then can begin to assemble the card. You'll attach the daffodil delight rectangle to the pacific point base, then the real red  rectangle to the daffodil delight & then the whisper white rectangle to the real red rectangle all with fast fuse adhesive. Once all the layers are assembled you'll attach the real red "Lego" block to the whisper white as shown in the picture. You'll then attach the pacific point "Lego" block using 1 layer of dimensionals as shown in the picture.  Lastly you'll attach the daffodil delight "Lego" blocks using dimensionals stacked in 2 layers and placed on the card as shown in the picture. I've listed the items I used in the card below so if you want to make a "Lego" birthday card you will be able to get the supplies you need.
