Moving south....

Hi All

I mentioned a few months ago I was moving to Arizona....Well the time has come to go.  I leave this coming Sunday.  I am excited to be moving to Arizona, but this is quite a stressful time.  As you can imagine there is a lot of stuff to sort through after living in a home for 22+ years. There is also packing, donating and throwing out to do. Then there are all the goodbyes to say to many dear friends. There is also getting things set up at the new temporary house that you have to do. There are tons of errands to run to wrap up stuff and the list goes on and on.   While I have enjoyed living Idaho, and have many friends I will miss,  I will not miss the snow and cold weather this winter or all the stairs that I have to climb in my current home.  Anyhooo, as it may be a while before I can post again I wanted to share a few cards I've recently made. The first one is using my October Paper Pumpkin kit, I loved this kit and the shaker cards it made. Stampin' Up has let Paper Pumpkin subscribers know that there will be a special November kit. It usually has a Christmas theme... well at least it has in the past....The kit costs $19.95 per month plus tax, shipping is included. I've checked around and this is an awesome price for what you get.  You can go to the Paper Pumpkin website by clicking the link to the right of this post. Please use my name as your demonstrator. As a subscriber of mine you will receive a monthly newsletter with alternative ideas for the supplies in your kit.   I used Thoughts and Prayers for the sympathy card. For the fall tree I used Sheltering trees. For the Congratulations card I used Vintage leaves stamp set and the matching framelits. I hope these inspire you to get some cards made. Enjoy.....

Just a quickie reminder....Stampin' Up is still running their buy 3 get 1 free Designer Series Paper sale through October 31st. This applies to all paper that regularly sells for $11. Doing the math that's $8.25 per package which is a 25% savings or $.69 per sheet which is amazing as those sheets are always double sided and you would usually pay over $1 in the craft stores for a sheet of double sided patterned paper. Don't miss out on this fabulous sale it only happens once a year. You can get further details on my online Stampin' Up store. (Please remember to use my October Host code SHECJ6HE if your order is less than $150 before shipping and tax if you are more than $150 don't use the host code as you get the host benefits instead of me.)

Some personal, family & Stampin' Up information (aka the good, the bad & the ugly)

For the Bad:  I just realized in all the hassle & bustle  of my currently crazy life I'd forgotten to get my October 1st Stamping Online project information up on my blog.....Sorry it is late but there is a good reason for this.
For the Ugly: We're moving to Arizona the end of the month!!!  My husband retired rather suddenly in May and we have been waiting for the last few months to hear about my back surgery lawsuit.  Well we finally heard and the news is UGLY, the Federal Judge said that even though we had evidence showing that Blue Cross of Idaho had violated their own policies when determining their refusal in the appeal for me to have the surgery and the evidence showed that it was against their own policy and that it was always going to be conducted that way for the kind of surgery I need to fix my SI joint problem, they still have the right to refuse to pay my claim thus they win the case because we did not show enough proof that this was an ongoing issue within Blue Cross of Idaho.  So you can imagine since our lawyer had told us for over 2.5 yrs that we had a "slam dunk" case against Blue Cross of Idaho how devastated I was to hear we lost and that even though we proved to the judge that our argument was true it wasn't enough to cause him to side with us........I guess you win some and you lose some.  So While I wait to see what else can be done at this time we have decided to move closer to family and get out of the very cold winters of Idaho. Both my husband and I feel better joint wise in Arizona. We are selling our home and getting the items we want to take packed up. This is a heavy task as you can imagine for someone to have lived in one house for 22+ years.

For the Good: Our youngest son past his Bar Exam, has received his license and has moved back home to help us with our upcoming move. For that I am very grateful. We will be living in the Phoenix area and not have to deal with Eastern Idaho winters any longer. I will no longer be working as October 13th as I have resigned from my current position from the private practice where I work as a LPN and will not be seeking further employment due to the SI joint issues I have, not that many doctors would hire me anyway.

More Good: There are 2 sales going on at Stampin' UP.  The first is a BOGO Paper Pumpkin sale it is limited to new subscribers only but until October 10th you can get a free month kit with the purchase of 1 month.   Here's a direct link to my Paper Pumpkin website and you can order from there 24/7. https://www.paperpumpkin.com/en-us/sign-up/?demoid=2148942 It's a great time to sign up as you'll  be getting not only October's kit which usually has a fall or thanksgiving theme but November usually has a Christmas theme.  Last year November had some super cute christmas cards and the best part is all the prep work is done for you by Stampin' Up you just stamp and assemble and you have some cute projects. I made the cute little treat bag above using supplies from the September kit.  The second Stampin' UP sale is their annual Designer Series paper sale.  Until October 31st if you buy 3 package of the Designer Series paper that is listed at $11 you will be able to use the buy 3 get 1 free deal.  This even includes 2 of the Christmas paper designs.  You don't want to miss out on this sale!!!

Still More Good: Since I didn't get my Stamping Online information posted to the blog until today I'm allowing anyone who places a $20 order (before shipping and tax) on my Stampin Up Website using the October host code SHECJ6HE by October 20th to receive the October Stamping Online project kit. This kit will be mailed from me to you by October 25th so make sure you DO NOT use no contact or I won't be able to send you out this super cute project kit.  Here's a  peek at what you'll be able to make with the kit......here's a clue it has to do with Christmas...
I think this months project is super cute and I'd love to earn your business.  If you don't have a catalog or if you have any questions please  leave me a comment below or you can email me at vicksand99@gmail.com.

Well that's about it for today.  Thank you for your patience with me in the delay in getting my Stamping Online Class project information posted for you.

Happy Labor Day......

Happy Fall y'all,

I know that my opening sounds so silly coming from me as I was only born in Texas. I  didn't live there much as I was raised all over the USA as a military brat but being born in Texas makes me a Texan, right??? At least that's what I tell my family.  While I may not usually talk with a southern drawl, at this time of the year I love saying "Y'all" as it rhymes with fall. :)

Anyhooo.....I have a quick update for today. I just had to share this super quick and easy fall card. I was inspired by the wind we have here in Eastern Idaho as it started blowing again a few days ago.  I kid you not we were at 93 degrees less than a week ago and then out of nowhere BLAT!!! The early fall weather arrived and for 3 days now the high temperature has been in the low 70's and today we will be lucky if we get to 65 degrees for our high that's about 10 degrees cooler than normal for this time of the year.....okay, okay enough about the weather, let's back to my card.... I made it using watercolor paper & one of my favorite stamp sets " Sheltering Trees" of course I added a twist...can you see it??? I used what I want to call a "gust of wind" stamp from the new Holiday Catalog stamp set " Star of Light."  I love this new stamp set.  The sentiments are absolutely beautiful. The stars are delicate & elegant. It has matching thinlits too.  I can see myself using that stamp set for my Christmas cards this year and probably many other projects too. Now I did not come up with the "gust of wind" idea all by myself. I had seen another demonstrators card about 1 month ago and I thought at the time once fall arrives here it'll be great but right now it's 95 degrees out and I am enjoying my summer weather. I think that thinking about fall was just too far away for me at the time. Well I must have I forgot to pin it so I spent several hours yesterday trying to find it again, I wanted to give that demonstrator credit but alas I could not find it again. I know that mine doesn't look exactly like the other one but still I like to give other demonstrators credit when I use their idea as a starting point for mine. I decided to go ahead and entered it into a challenge over at my upline's Facebook group. Since it's a closed group I thought I'd share it with you today.  As part of the challenge I had to use at least 3 of these colors:  dapper denim, cajun craze, emerald envy, delightful dijon & early espresso in my entry.  I used all 5 and I just adore how it turned out.  I stamped the "gust of wind" into the center of the watercolor paper using delightful dijon and simply stamped the tree trunk using early espresso ink right on top of the wind stamp . I "stamped off" the stamp first on a scrap piece of paper so that it wasn't too dark for the watercolor look I wanted. I think it looks just right.  I then inked up the larger leaf stamp in emerald envy and then "pounced" the stamp using markers with the other 3 colors. I then misted the stamp and then set it down on top of the branches. I then for the grass below the tree I took the grass stamp inked it up in delightful dijon, then stamped it off before I pounced it with emerald envy. I then misted that stamp and set it down below the tree.  I stamped the sentiment in the lower left corner in dapper denim. I then stamped the small leaf stamp so that it looks as if they are being blown/falling out of the tree heading to the ground in several of the colors.  I then attached a piece of the Moroccan Designer Series paper to a dapper denim card base that measured 8.5 x5.5, scored at 4.25 inches. Then using dimensionals I attached the piece of watercolor paper on top of the designer series paper. I just love it even without my usual bling.  You'll find the list of products I used to complete the card below. I hope you like it too....

Remember you can still join my "Online Stamping Class"!!!! You just have to order $40 before shipping and tax by September 13th from my online store (just click the button above that says "Shop Now") and you will receive a class packet with the supplies to make 4 Birthday Cards FREE by September 25th.  Check out all the details on my August 31st blog post.

Well that's it for today. Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the web.  Please leave me a comment so I know you were here.

Until next time.... Happy Stamping!!!
