August Stamp Camp...

Hi all,
Thanks for stopping in today...I just want to share with you a fun event that is going to be held in my area on August 13th from noon until 5pm.  We will be completing this awesome Oh Happy Day card kit.  You can find all the information on my Skybow Creations Facebook page. Even if you don't live in the Eastern Idaho area you can still do this card kit.  All you have to do is click on the kit box below and it will take you right to my online store and you can pick this card kit up.  Remember "Bonus Days" is running through July 31st so for every $50 before tax & shipping you spend you'll receive a email with a coupon code for $5 that you can spend in August.  It's like Kohl's cash only for stampers/crafters.  This kit is all inclusive and it comes with enough supplies to make 20 cards.  It even includes envelopes for all 20 cards, a stamp set, a black ink spot pad & clear block all for $35 and you can use the stamp set, ink & clear block to make even more cards.  I just love having cards on hand that I can just write a quick note in and then off it goes into the mail.  I love getting handmade cards in the mail almost as much as I love them.   Last month my husband told me that he paid almost $7 for an anniversary card for me and while it is very pretty it was mass produced and just not as nice as a handmade. With this kit even with tax and shipping added in the cost of each card is about $2.25 and they are beautiful handmade cards. Stampin' UP has done all the work for you all you have to do is pop out a few pieces, fold the card bases and follow the written instructions (there is even a You tube video you can watch).  If you have a group of friends you can get together and place an order at my online store and save on shipping. These cards are all very bright and cheery and I think it would be a fun way to spend time with friends....something to think about.

Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the web.  Please leave a comment so I know that you stopped by.  Until next time Happy Stamping & Crafting.

Birth Days & Bonus Days....

Hi there!

Today I am sharing a couple of Birthday cards.  July is a busy birthday month around here with 6 Birthdays to celebrate.  In addition to all the regular summer birthday activities I will be taking a trip with my darling husband to Phoenix for 8 days, yes I said Phoenix in July and while I get that it sounds crazy there is a reason for this craziness....which I will share with you all in another update. As soon as we return from Phoenix, I'm talking the next morning, we will be picking up our darling granddaughter at the Salt Lake City airport and she will be staying with us for a month.  I am so excited to see her. The last time I got to spend time with her she was 10 and she just turned 13 last May...her dad is in the USAF and he is stationed on the east coast in Virginia and with my back issues it makes it very hard for us to travel out that way to see her, so we had to wait until she felt like she could handle an unaccompanied minor trip. We have several special activities planned for her.

Well I guess I'd best get on to the Birthday card details and the Bonus days information.

I know the card on the left looks like it would be a nice masculine card, and it would, but it was for a dear female friend who loves Steampunk. I used some of my Tim Holtz bits and embossing folders but for the envelope, sentiment, some accents, ink and the paper on this card I used Stampin' Up products. The card base is crumb cake as is the embossed clocks layer. I chose Early Espresso & Soft Suede inks to distress the edges of the card base and all over the embossed clock layer. The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and I used the new Stampin' Up Classic Label punch. The gold accents are actually Stampin' Up's White Perfect Accents that I colored with a gold sharpie marker to blend with the old gold rub-on paste I used from my stash for the aged effect on the card.  The Mermaid card on the right is for my grand niece who's 4th birthday is during our visit in Phoenix. She is having a Mermaid party so I used my Cricut Teddy Bear Parade cartridge and some patterned paper from by stash but the card base is made from Stampin' Ups whisper white cardstock, I used Peachy keen stamps for her eyes, mouth and nose which I applied glossy accents to to make them shinny. The sentiment is from the Stampin' Ups Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set while the frame around the sentiment comes from the Rose Wonder stamp set and it was die cut using the Rose Garden Thinlits and the Big Shot.  The embossing on the tail is from the retired fancy fans embossing folder & sea shell embossing came from d'vine swirls embossing folder by Provo craft. I then used some Wink of Stella that you can get at Stampin' Up on the sea shells as you can never have to much bling on a Mermaid, right??? The white glimmer edge and fin as well as the gold glimmer in the harp and the pink glimmer star on her head are all cut from Stampin' Up's glimmer paper as is the bear, which I cut from Soft Suede and very vanilla Stampin Up cardstock.. The ribbon and all the pearl accents are from Stampin' Up too. The mermaid is popped up on a action wobble so that she will move for my grand niece when she opens her card. You can find a list of all the Stampin' Up supplies I used listed below along with the July Hostess code. If you just click on the supply item it will take you to my online Stampin' UP store there is also a shop now button on the right side of my blog. (Remember If you place less than a $150 order please use the July hostess code. If you order is over $150 you get to have the hostess benefits).
