A Special honor...

Hi blogger friends and family,  I just found out that Pink Cricut aka Sarah Hamer Designs has selected one of my projects as one of the 3  weekly Link up Tuesday projects she features on her blog.  I think Sarah is very creative and her blog is one of the blogs that I go to for inspiration. I know that I am blessed by God with my creativity but to be recognized by her is super exciting for me!   I now get to add her "Featured on Pink Link up Party " blinkie to my blog so be sure to visit her blog and check out all the creativity you see there.
**Thanks Sarah for this special honor.**
I am sharing the project that she featured again because I think it's a cute Cricut project.  Hopefully it will inspire you to link up a project on Sarah's site too.
Enjoy and thanks for stopping by my corner of the web.

Changes & Challenges...

Hi blogger friends and family.  This past few months have been filled with many changes and challenges.  One of them is learning to say goodbye to a parent.  As many of you may remember I mentioned that my Dad had been sick and then went home to be with the Lord on the first of February.  While I was not living close,he lived in the Phoenix area, his death still left a hole in my everyday life and I do miss not being able to talk with him every Friday on my way home from work.  A dear friend's dad has been sick and died just about two weeks ago and she, like I, has a family member that causes pain on top of the pain you already have from the change in life, so to help  I made a card for her to let her know that I am thinking about her and understand a bit of what she is going through.  I hope that she is comforted by my card.
I found my inspiration at the Sizzix blog. As I did not own most of the items used in the Sizzix card, I had to adapt my card to use the items I do own.  First I used my Stampin Up & Tim Holtz embossing folders with my Cuttlebug on the cardstock. Then I distressed the cardstock with Tim Holtz distress ink in many colors to help bring out the bricks and Vintage Photo ink to bring out the flowers from the embossing folders. Next I stamped my focal image onto the brick embossed cardstock. The stamp is by Inkadinkado.  I used Tim Holtz distress inks to color the stamped image along with some Twinkling H2O paints to add the glimmer to several areas of the stamped image. I used my Cricut Elegant Edges cartridge to cut out the shape of the focal image. My sentiment tag is made with a Spellbinders label die that I modified to fit the space I had on the card.  I added flower soft, pearls and ribbon to give the card a 3D effect but since I will be mailing it to my friend it can't be too thick as the US Postal Service doesn't understand handmade cards.
Anyway here's the card, I hope you enjoy and that you are inspired to tell others that you too care about them. Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the web.

It's Officially Spring!!!

Hello to all my blog friends and family.  I am so excited today because it is the first day of Spring!!!.  That doesn't always mean much up here in the Pacific Northwest as Winter can often last right up to about the 4th of July.  While it was beautiful out today it was very  chilly so it did not feel Spring like just yet, but at least the sun was shining and that is always a plus after so many gray days of Winter.
Today I am sharing with you the most recent project I designed for my Cricut Club. It met last Saturday and while it was not yet "officially" Spring I was so tired of Winter that I just could not wait a day longer to have flowers.  So here are a few of pictures. All the flowers are made using paper that I cut with 5 different Cricut cartridges and embellishment bits and pieces I had in my stash.

I think they came out pretty cute, the ladies in the club liked them which is the main objective of all the Cricut club projects I design and they add just the right touch of Spring to my home. So it is a win all the way around.

Enjoy and thanks for stopping by my corner of the web.

Spring is in the air...

Here in eastern Idaho I have been enjoying a little taste of Spring (shh don't tell, as the calendar still says winter).  It has been wonderful, sunny and very mild this past week except for Tuesday that is.  Anyway on to my craft for today.  I had a gift to make for a friend who was turning 50 last Saturday.  I decided to make her a mini album, so I go to my online edition of the Cricut Magazine, (this a great magazine and the online edition only costs $4.95 per month if you subscribe, a much better price than at my local craft store) for some inspiration.  I found a cute mini album for someone turning 21 so I made a few changes and here are a couple of pictures of my completed mini album.

I cut the pages and embellishment with my Cricut Elegant Edges, Cindy Loo, Storybook, Songbird cartridge. I then used chalk and a Tim Holtz embossing folder in my Cuttlebug to distress the paper.  I used My minds eye papers and stamps as well as some Coordinations cardstock.  The bling, ribbon & flowers are all from my stash. It was a hit at the party and all that my friend will have to do is add some pictures.
I hope you enjoy. Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the web.
